The overall aim of the Fairtrade Youth Team project is to promote Fair Trade chocolate in Coventry. The project intends to raise awareness of the Fair Trade concept through a variety of events. Students are being particularly targeted, with many of the events taking place in university locations. By the end of the project, the Fairtrade Youth Team aims to have either introduced or strengthened the idea of Fair Trade, in specific relation to chocolate, to a maximum number of participants.
The objectives for the project are:
• To promote Fairtrade chocolate - Divine Chocolate - to as many participants as possible.
• To get people involved in Fair Trade events
• To raise awareness of the Fair Trade concept to a maximum number of people
• To increase knowledge of how Fair Trade operates
These are objectives are going to be achieved through a range of events, which relate directly to the aims and objectives. Each event is linked to the others, but takes place on separate occasions. There are three events in total:
• Chocolate sample testing & Fairtrade Quiz
• Photo competition
• Healthy Fairtrade goodie bags at the sports centre
